NIMATA by CHLOE MOUMBARIS

For this fashion collection, the concept was based on the shape and symbolism of the “Spiral”, showing just like the "Thread", that the "Spiral" represents life, creation and the relationship between two or more elements.

Spiral curves are inherent in nature, society, and more specifically in architecture and in art. In this collection is to be found the form of the spiral in conjunction with that of the DNA, of infinity and its constant renewal, but also with the radii of a spiral staircase.

The spiral is consequently an open and optimistic form. Its particularity of rotating around its axis, represents the labyrinthine idea of thought, self-realization, just as the search for the inner self on the way to freedom.

The photos taken, express the struggle and the path followed by a character to find his way, literally and figuratively. It represents a labyrinthine journey inspired by the myth of Ariadne. We imagine that the thread that leads to the exit of the labyrinth is no other than the spiral thanks to which the hero succeeds to avoid the pitfalls.

Initially, the model walks along through the corridors of the building in search of the light of the exit, while thwarting anxiously the sinister pitfalls of this modern labyrinth.
